UNSILENCED Woman w/ Butterfly removed from her Lips Rescued Women Series
$100.00
This is a 4" x 6" collage of hand printed and antique paper on wood, which is framed in a composite frame which is not wood- it is a foam/plastic sort of frame. It is very difficult to find float frames for this size art- but this look very nice. It is wired for hanging, or it can easily stand on a shelf/mantle. The frame size is 5.5 x 7.5.
In the Rescued Women series, I remove images of 1800's women from magazines, books, and ephemera, and give them a new life- free from the constraints of Victorian society. The fly, they float, the take off the trappings of fashion, they visit the hemp field. The butterfly over the mouth represents repression - the silencing of the soul. In this piece, it has been removed for her own transformation and reinvention.
The art is shipped via USPS as a Ground Advantage package for 20.00 . Additional small pieces are 10.00 additional shipping.
